Electronics Maintenance Technician – North Warning System
Location: Various Northern Sites across the Arctic
Type: Unionized, Rotational Position (6 weeks on, 6 weeks off)

Nasittuq operates and maintains the North Warning System (NWS), a joint Canada-US radar network spanning 47 sites across Northern Canada. This is more than just a career – it’s a chance to challenge yourself, develop your skills, and contribute to a critical defense system.

What You’ll Do:

  • Perform scheduled and corrective maintenance on radar, satellite communication, and electronic test equipment.
  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair complex electronic systems and components.
  • Execute retrofit installations, including RF/IF equipment replacements and satellite communication upgrades.
  • Maintain and update site documentation, audit records, and equipment modifications.
  • Ensure compliance with safety and operational standards while working in a clean and organized environment.

Who You Are:

  • Education: Two-year Electronics Technician diploma from a recognized institution or Canadian military equivalent (Certified Engineering Technologist designation is an asset).
  • Experience: Minimum 2 years maintaining electronic systems; proficient with electronic test and repair equipment.
  • Skills: Strong troubleshooting, communication, and organizational abilities; adept with MS Word and Excel.
  • Other Requirements: Physically capable of working in remote conditions and adverse weather, with a willingness to adhere to safety standards, including PPE.
