About the Role:
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Dept Aide - EVS to join our team. As a Dept Aide - EVS, you will be responsible for maintaining a clean and safe environment for our patients and staff. You will play a critical role in ensuring that our facilities meet the highest standards of cleanliness and sanitation. Your attention to detail and ability to work independently will be essential to your success in this role. This position is in Brawley, CA.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Flexibility to work weekends and holidays as needed
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous experience in a healthcare or hospitality setting
- Knowledge of cleaning and sanitation procedures
- Bilingual in English and Spanish
Responsibilities:
- Assists the Departmental Coordinator’s daily activities in accordance with current Federal, State, and local regulations, and assures that the facility is maintained in a clean, safe and comfortable manner.
- Follows the proper cleaning methods that pertains to each area within the facility to ensure time management.
- Cleans patient rooms, offices, lounges, lobbies, restrooms, corridors, elevators, stairwells, windows, light fixtures, drapes, cubicle curtains, miscellaneous linen, tilt trucks, etc.
- Vacuums & edges carpets, upholstered furniture, rugs, walk off mats, and other projects.
- Dusts furniture, medical and computer equipment, vents, window blinds, and all flat surfaces in offices, patient rooms and other work areas.
- Empties and transports trash, soiled linen, and infectious waste in respective containers to their proper disposal/storage sites.
- Dust/wet mops, scrubs/strips, refinishes/burnishes, shampoos/extracts all hard surface and carpeted floor covering.
- Responsible for the adherence to all safety and universal precaution standards individually and department wide.
- Utilizes the appropriate changes and supplies according to procedure. Works day, evening or night shift as assigned. Completes work assignments in a timely manner.
- Performs other work-related duties as assigned.
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to lift a minimum of 40 lbs., push a minimum of 160 lbs.
- Must be able to bend, stoop, reach, kneel, stand for 8 hours, and work with hands (wiping, scrubbing, and pulling.)
- Possess good flexibility and in possession of good hearing and vision (correctable with prosthetics if necessary.)
- Must be able to work outside between buildings
Skills:
As a Dept Aide - EVS, you will use your attention to detail and organizational skills to ensure that our facilities are clean and safe for our patients and staff. You will also use your communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with other members of the team. In addition, your ability to follow established procedures and handle hazardous materials safely will be critical to your success in this role. Finally, your flexibility and willingness to work weekends and holidays as needed will be essential to meeting the needs of our patients and staff.
