Job Title: CDL Operator

Location: Temple, TX

Reports To: Director of Distribution


Primary duties will include:

Transport finished goods and raw materials over land to and from manufacturing plants or retail and distribution centers

Inspect vehicles for mechanical items and safety issues and perform preventative maintenance

Plan routes and meet delivery schedules

Comply with DOT truck driving rules and regulations (size, weight, route designations, parking, and break periods) as well as with company policies and procedures

Maneuver trucks into loading or unloading positions

Collect and verify delivery instructions, documents, and work orders

Report defects, accidents, or violations

Other duties as assigned


Requirements:

At least 21 years of age

Current DOT Physical

Valid Class A commercial driver's license (CDL-A)

At least 2 years of verifiable miles of tractor trailer driving experience

Candidates will be subject to a background check and drug screen, in accordance with applicable laws

Ability to follow written and/or oral instructions

Ability to read, interpret and apply laws, rules, regulations policies and/or procedures


Preferred education:

High School diploma is preferred, GED required.

We will consider additional experience in lieu of diploma.


The essential physical & environmental requirements of the position are:

Ability to work in non-climate-controlled environment, heat and cold.

Ability to use hands to handle, control, or feel objects, tools, or controls.

Ability to stand prolonged periods standing and performing repetitive tasks.

Ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 50 lbs. without assistance.

Ability to hear sounds and differentiate between them.

Ability to visually understand distance, peripheral vision, depth perception, ability to adjust focus, and have color vision.
