POSITION TITLE:

The Building and Grounds is responsible for all maintenance duties upon the AFI Facilities and Grounds.

ESSENTIAL POSITION DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Maintain an awareness of building and grounds appearance/condition to help maintain company property and keep supervisor informed of any change in conditions that may need attention.
• Perform a wide range of facilities services repair and maintenance tasks including plumbing, heating, carpentry, painting, electrical and grounds.
• Operate light industrial equipment, grounds equipment.
  
• Maintain exterior of facility to include yard maintenance (landscape maintenance, pick up debris, etc.)
• Perform, carpentry, mechanical or cleanup jobs which are assigned. This will include keeping fixtures and plumbing in working order.
• Complete needed repairs to floors, sidewalk, and parking lots.
• Perform carpentry maintenance tasks including routine sheetrock/drywall installation and/or repair.
• Assist in cleaning the interior of plants to include carpet cleaning, painting, changing light bulbs, changing light sockets, soap dispensers, small repairs, etc.
• Help maintenance personnel in their duties as requested.
• Cleans work area, tools, and equipment.
• Manage time by organizing, planning, prioritizing and completing required duties in a timely manner.
• Keep trash dumped into compactor on a regular basis and empty recyclables
• Perform miscellaneous job duties as assigned.
• Adhere to established policies and standard operating procedures (SOPs)

Required Skills/Abilities:

• Efficient use of hand and power hand tools, metal fabrication equipment and possess basic carpentry skills.
• Ability to operate lawn equipment.
• Computer literate.

Education and Experience:

• High school diploma or equivalent level of education highly preferred.

Physical Requirements:

• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand walk:

use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or control; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear.

• The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance.
• The employee must regularly lift and/ or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/ or move up to 50 pounds.
