About this position
Meat Preparation and Cutting Assistance:
- Assisting meat cutters in preparing various cuts of meat.
- Ensuring the quality and cleanliness of the meat processing area.
Packaging:
- Weighing, wrapping, and packaging meat products for display or customer orders.
- Ensuring that all products are properly labeled with correct information (weight, price, and expiration date).
Stocking and Merchandising:
- Stocking packaged meat products in the display cases.
- Ensuring that the display area is clean, well-organized, and visually appealing to customers.
- Rotating products to ensure older stock is used first (first-in, first-out method).
Quality Control:
- Inspecting meat products for freshness and ensuring they meet the store's quality standards.
- Disposing of any expired or spoiled products according to health and safety regulations.
Health and Safety Compliance:
- Adhering to food safety standards, including proper sanitation and hygiene practices.
- Ensuring equipment is properly cleaned and maintained according to store policy.
Customer Service:
- Assisting customers with inquiries about meat products and helping them find specific cuts or types of meat.
- Taking special orders or custom packaging requests from customers.
Inventory Management Support:
- Assisting with inventory checks and reporting low stock or issues to the Meat Department Manager or Director.
