What will my role entail?
The Lead Low Voltage Technician will specialize in the installation, maintenance, and repair of commercial security systems. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with access control, video surveillance, intrusion detection systems, and IT network infrastructure/servers. This role requires a strong technical background, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team. The Lead Low Voltage Technician will also provide mentorship and leadership to junior technicians, ensuring high standards of safety and functionality. Exceptional customer service and support during all project phases are essential.
Key Responsibilities:- Install, troubleshoot, and maintain low voltage systems in commercial and industrial settings.
- Work closely with customers, contractors, and other team members to ensure the successful completion of projects while adhering to safety standards and industry regulations.
- Handle various low voltage systems, including access control, video surveillance, intrusion detection systems, and IT network infrastructure/servers.
- Perform regular inspections and preventive maintenance on all low voltage systems to ensure
optimal performance. - Diagnose and resolve technical issues promptly, minimizing downtime and ensuring customer satisfaction.
- Document all work performed, including installations, repairs, and maintenance, in accordance with company policies and procedures.
- Provide technical support and training to customers and team members as needed.
- Stay updated on industry trends, new technologies, and best practices to continually improve
- service quality and efficiency.
- Mentor and guide junior technicians, providing on-the-job training and support to enhance their skills and knowledge.
- Lead by example in maintaining Benson's safety protocols and job site safety standards.
Qualifications:
Skills: Possesses the ability to read and interpret blueprints effectively, ensuring accurate and efficient project execution. High awareness ofjob site safety protocols and strict adherence to Benson’s safety standards underscore a commitment to a secure working environment. Excels in analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving tasks, with excellent written and verbal communication skills facilitating clear and effective interactions.Leadership: Proven ability to mentor and guide junior technicians, fostering a collaborative and educational environment. Strong leadership skills to ensure team cohesion and project success.
Background Check: Must pass a background check with no DUI or domestic violence records as some work may be on Federal Property and Military Reservations.
Experience: 5-7 years of experience in ACCESS control systems, including expertise in intrusion detection systems and video surveillance systems. A current Arizona Alarm Agents License. Additional experience with fire alarm systems is a plus.
Driver’s License: Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
