About this position


 

Key Responsibilities

· Administer and maintain internal IT systems, including servers, workstations, networking equipment, and software applications.

· Provide hands-on support to team members for hardware, software, and connectivity issues.

· Manage user accounts, permissions, and access controls across systems (Windows, Linux, VPN, etc.).

· Monitor system health and performance; generate regular reports and implement improvements.

· Collaborate with global IT teams to ensure compliance with corporate IT policies and standards.

· Assist in onboarding/offboarding processes, including provisioning and decommissioning of IT assets.

· Maintain documentation of IT systems, configurations, and procedures.

· Provide technical support for remote and on-site employees.

· Serve as a go-to resource for the entire team for IT-related needs and troubleshooting.

Salary Information

$25 - $32 Hourly Wage

Requirements

 

Required Skills & Qualifications

· Strong team player with the ability to work independently and prioritize tasks.

· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

· High attention to detail and professionalism.

· Linux and Windows administration

· Networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, firewalls)

· VPN and remote access technologies

· M2M communications (IoT)

· Strong documentation skills – ability to clearly and consistently document IT systems, configurations, procedures, and support activities.


 

Preferred Qualifications

· Associate degree or higher in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related technical field.

· Familiarity with MS SQL or other database platforms.

· Basic understanding of railroad infrastructure and signaling systems.

· Experience with IT asset management and helpdesk ticketing systems.

· Experience with cloud platforms such as Microsoft Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud.

· Familiarity with cybersecurity best practices, including endpoint protection, patch management, and threat detection.

· Knowledge of backup and disaster recovery solutions and strategies.

· Experience managing Active Directory and Group Policy in a Windows environment.

· Experience supporting hybrid work environments, including remote desktop solutions and collaboration tools (e.g., Microsoft Teams, Zoom).

· Familiarity with compliance standards such as ISO 27001, NIST, or GDPR (if applicable to your industry).
