SERVICE TECHNICIAN

The Water Service Technician works on the City side of the water meter, providing installation, maintenance and removal. Also, does testing of backflow prevention devices. 

Essential Duties:

Test backflows

Fix water leaks inside meter boxes

Install water meters

Fill out paper work from work orders 

Make sure the truck is fully stocked

Notifying customers when necessary

Knowledge and Skills 

Must have a high school diploma or equivalent. 

Must have a valid driver’s license.

Ability to operate a backhoe

Physical/Environmental Requirements

The environmental working conditions of this position include constantly working in wet surrounds and high temperatures and very frequently working around loud noise, low temperatures and working outside. Also, frequently works around hazardous machinery, low noise, cluttered floor areas and poor ventilation. Occasionally works at night, inside and around dust or fumes.
