Job Summary
III Armored Corps is seeking a highly skilled Digital Fires System Engineer to provide on-site technical support to the Fire Support Element at Fort Hood. In this role, you will ensure the operational readiness, integration, and sustainment of critical Army digital fire support and tactical communication systems. This position is ideal for a motivated technical professional with military systems experience who thrives in a mission-focused environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Configure and maintain digital fire support systems across III Corps.
- Install and maintain software applications, encryption devices, and communications hardware.
- Program and sustain tactical radios, including HF, TSM, SINCGARS, VULOS, SATCOM, and MUOS-capable platforms.
- Conduct system integration testing and support PACE planning.
- Provide at least 20 hours of technical training per month to Soldiers and leaders.
- Respond to support requests within 2 hours; resolve 90% of issues within 24 hours.
- Prepare monthly technical reports and maintain detailed system logs.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years experience with Army digital fire support systems or tactical communications systems.
- Active SECRET clearance or ability to obtain within 90 days.
- U.S. Citizenship.
- DoD 8570 IAT Level I certification (or ability to obtain within 60 days).
Work Environment
- On-site at III Armored Corps, Fort Hood (Fort Cavazos).
- Work involves both office and field/operational settings.
- Occasional travel (CONUS/OCONUS) to support training and exercises.
