The Clean Vehicles Campaign (CVC) is an unbranded coalition of more than 60 groups from various areas dedicated to advancing policies to reduce pollution from cars, trucks, buses and other vehicles. The Campaign works to leverage existing infrastructure, resources, and assets and collaborates with allied coalitions. In the next year, the Campaign seeks to accelerate the drive to a zero-emission future in the transportation sector with a robust U.S. manufacturing sector, strong vehicle standards, and equitable resource deployment.


Scope: The Program Fellow will work alongside 60+ organizations on the transition to zero-emission vehicles. The Program fellow will have the opportunity to engage multiple stakeholders, including partnering with those leading this work internationally. This role will support project coordination, partner communications, materials development, meeting support, and research.

A major highlight of this role is the opportunity to be at the forefront of the global transition to zero-emission vehicles. You’ll play an essential part in designing and delivering dynamic training programs for international staff driving this change. From conducting initial interviews to shaping compelling training materials and providing hands-on support, you’ll help empower teams around the world with the knowledge and tools they need to lead the future of clean transportation.

The Summer Program Fellow is responsible for scheduling and tracking partner engagement, drafting and editing campaign materials, supporting virtual and in-person meetings, and conducting research to inform campaign strategy and outreach.


Key Responsibilities

  • Communication & Outreach

Support external partner engagement by coordinating meetings, managing calendars, drafting and sending follow-up communications, and maintaining ongoing relationship-building efforts. Ensure timely, professional communication and track

engagement to strengthen partnerships.

  • Materials Development

Assist in the development and production of materials for campaign trainings and related initiatives. Responsibilities include drafting, editing, formatting, and distributing content such as training curricula, presentations (PowerPoint), fact sheets, backgrounders, briefing documents, and stakeholder correspondence. Ensure materials are clear, accurate, and aligned with campaign objectives.

  • Meeting Support & Coordination

Provide logistical and administrative support for both in-person and virtual meetings. Prepare agendas and materials, manage meeting logistics, take detailed notes, and produce clear summaries with action items and follow-up steps.

  • Tracking & Research

Maintain organized tracking systems for meetings and partner engagement. Conduct country-specific and issue-based research to inform strategy, briefing materials, and outreach efforts.


Other Duties

  • Participate in weekly team meetings and other coalition partner meetings
  • Contribute towards a positive, productive, and collaborative working environment
  • Maintain accurate records in databases and tracking systems, updated in a timely manner for effective information sharing in our hybrid culture
  • Special projects, including, but not limited to, helping manage coalition retreats and events, when applicable
Requirements:

The successful candidate must demonstrate the following skills, experience, and competencies:

  • Currently enrolled or recent graduate of an undergraduate or graduate degree program, with demonstrated interest in clean energy policy and/or the environment
  • Demonstrated interest in environmental issues and the environmental community
  • Strong verbal communication and writing skills
  • Ability to effectively juggle multiple projects and meet deadlines
  • Experience utilizing Google Drive applications, including PowerPoint, Sheets, and Documents
  • Experience creating compelling and informative presentations

  • Design abilities are not required, but experience with Canva and other design suites is a plus
  • Experience in issue-organizing, advocacy, or electoral campaigns is a plus, particularly within the environmental community
  • International knowledge or experience preferred


Compensation

The salary range for this position is $19.00 an hour, up to 40 hours a week. This is a seasonal position, available from May-August.

This is a hybrid position. Candidates are expected to work in the Washington, DC office 2–3 days per week to facilitate in-person collaboration, stakeholder engagement, and remain responsive to advocacy activity and events.
