Family & Consumer Sciences Teacher/ Child and Family Teacher/Sub Teacher

Family and Consumer Sciences: Child and Family certified teacher/sub teacher will plan and provide appropriate learning experiences for students in an alternate educational setting. The certified Family and Consumer Sciences Teacher/substitute teacher in this position is responsible for helping to create a learning environment that provides specialized instruction for a small group student who may need: 1:1 and/or small group instruction, lessons & activities for a variety of learning styles, and someone who is patient and flexible.

 The Family and Consumer Sciences Teacher will:

• Teach family relations and human development, including parenting education.
• Provide instruction in child care and development, handling children with special needs, and managing family economics and resources.
• Teach crisis intervention in families and develop skills for working with diverse family situations 

Hours: M-F, 8:00-2:30, 1/2 lunch, hourly rates from $40-$44 depending on experience

NJ Sick hours offered & Retire Ready NJ optional

Job Type: Part time position that could lead to a full-time teaching position!

Responsibilities include:

• Help to develop lesson plans, assignments and activities that reflect individual needs, goals, and objectives.
• Establish and follow routine and schedule to provide maximum learning time.
• Establish and maintain an environment conducive to learning.
• Utilize appropriate curricula, materials, and behavioral techniques.
• Complete all required paperwork in a professional and timely manner.
• Always supervise students in the classroom.
