About this position
The order selector is primarily responsible for receiving, stocking, pulling, staging, loading, and shipping merchandise. You will be responsible for checking and counting product selected against picking slips and special order documents for quantity, quality and shipment accuracy, and ensuring that all products selected for orders are placed in the proper route delivery loading area. You will also be assisting in the stacking and loading of the delivery trucks based on truck routes.
Hours are generally from 9pm or 10pm until anytime between 5am-7am but exact hours vary depending on the schedule discussed and agreed upon with the Night Operations Manager as well as the time of the year.
The ideal candidate will be a self-starter and will be able to work well as an individual as well as with a team, following instructions of their supervisor. They must be punctual and have reliable transportation to and from work.
Other responsibilities include:
- Moving through aisles, rows and shelves.
- Lifting merchandise up to 50 lbs. as needed.
- Maneuvering heavy equipment using hand trucks, pallet jackets, etc. Forklift/Jack experience is a plus!
- Helping team members maintain a clean, organized floor.
Qualifications:
- Agility to bend to floor-level shelves and reach to upper shelves (eight-ten feet) with the use of a stool or ladder when necessary.
- Have the stamina to stand and walk for the entire work shift.
- Fluent in reading, writing, basic math and understanding and communicating in English. (Basic literacy and math skills are required for this position).
- Accurately count and write legible numbers.
- Clear speaking and attentive listening skills.
- Motivated to train and learn.
- Desire to go above and beyond the Job Description.
- Desire to be part of a fun and energetic team.
Must have reliable transportation. ATTENDANCE AND PUNCTUALITY ARE A NECESSITY.
Must be able to work weekends and holidays.
MUST BE DRUG FREE AND PASS PRE-EMPLOYMENT DRUG TEST. ZERO TOLERANCE POLICY EVEN WITH MEDICAL CARDS!
At least 1 year warehouse/stocking/loading/unloading/order selecting experience required!
