Banquet Captain

The Banquet Captain will assist the banquet manager and chef with various events, supervision of events, and provide high standards of service of food to groups throughout service venues at Nook Sports.

Essential Job Functions 

• Assist in the set-up of banquet equipment 
• Maintain appearance standards of the events 
• Greet guests that are being serviced at the food station 
• Maintain portion control during events 
• Serve food and beverages in appropriate timeframe 
• Supervise servers to ensure quality service  
• Check all stations and room prior to event 
• All other duties as assigned 

 Basic Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older 
• Must have a valid driver’s license 
• Reliable and steady transportation to and from work 
• Authorized to work in the United States
• Availability to work a flexible schedule that may include evenings, weekends, and/or holidays as needed
• Six months of banquet serving experience  
• Previous experience directly supervising employees 
• Experience serving covered and uncovered food trays  

Preferred Qualifications

• Must be able to work under minimal supervision 
• Ability to remain calm in tense or stressful situations. 
• Must display a positive attitude, eagerness to learn and professional image in compliance with Spooky Nook Sports guidelines.  
• Must be able to communicate effectively and follow directions both written and verbally  
• Must be dependable, friendly, outgoing, and flexible 

Working Conditions

• Physical requirements necessary include walking, standing, bending, and lifting 
• Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds independently 
• Required to work evenings, weekends and holidays
