About this position

The Project Engineer (PE) plays a crucial role in overseeing and supporting various aspects of our

construction projects, ensuring successful and timely completion with a focus on information control

and coordination. The ideal candidate should possess a strong background in construction engineering,

excellent time management skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams.

The PE is responsible for assisting in coordinating and managing the construction process from start

through close-out. The PE works with the Project Manager to assist in the review of contract

documents, manage construction documents, expedite materials, ensure quality and help manage the

overall construction process. The PE reports to the Senior Project Manager or Project Executive. The

following is a general outline of the responsibilities of the Project Engineer:

Job Duties and Responsibilities

 Project Planning and Coordination; Coordinate and communicate effectively with architects,

design consultants, and subcontractors to ensure proper information flow and communication

amongst all team members.

 Provide administrative support to field management by assisting the superintendent to ensure

project success.

 Primarily a field based role that will report directly to the Project Manager, directly managing

the RFI, Submittal, ASI, and design change process, assisting in change order pricing, along with

assisting and collaborating with the Lead Superintendent in day to day administrative activities

onsite.

 Assist the Superintendent in material order deliveries, manage subcontractor contract

compliance, attend weekly coordination and safety meetings, establish and maintain positive

subcontractor/vendor relations.

 Ensuring all materials are procured well in advance of the time needed.

 Ensure code compliance by monitoring all materials test reports, scheduling 3rd party inspectors,

and monitoring permit and inspection notebook.

 Maintain quality control by continually inspecting all work, ensuring timely review and approval

of shop drawings by architects and engineers, and engaging design consultants for onsite

inspections and punch lists. Notify trades of all redline revisions, ASIs, and other changes from

published documents.

 Manage material control by monitoring material delivery and coordinating placement of

materials, rejecting incorrect or defective items and expediting replacement orders, and

ensuring that materials are being used where and how intended.

 Ensure safety of job site and field staff by inspecting site visits, work practices, tools and

equipment, fall protection, scaffolds, and safety devices. Follow and implement company

guidelines during OSHA visits. Inspect safety violation log. Ensure escalation procedures are

being utilized for recurring violators. Attend weekly safety meetings. Review safety reports

with safety consultants during site visits.

 Manage cleanliness and waste management by developing and promoting good housekeeping

practices everywhere on the job. Assist the superintendents with implementation and enforcing

of cleaning assignments with the trades.

 Ensure site security by implementing project specific security program to ensure protection of

project and assets.

 Manage erosion control monitoring by filing NOI and Not for compliance with all regulatory

bodies as part of the SWPPP.

 Manage administrative duties such as participating in weekly on-site meetings with

development taking and distributing meeting minutes and updating on project status. Assist PM

with weekly schedule updates.

 Organize and coordinate the Punch process, supporting the field supervision team, managing

subcontractor coordination and ensuring timely completion of work.

 Ensure a successful post-construction process by preparing close out books containing final

project documentation, and work with property management representatives and subs/vendors

to resolve all remaining items. Procure all warranty documentation from subcontractors and

material providers. Assist in preparing the close-out book containing final project

documentation. Ensure as-built surveys and elevation certificates are completed. Ensure asbuilt

plan set is completed by the Superintendent.

Qualifications

 4-year degree in construction, engineering, or related field

 Proven experience in construction project engineering or a related role.

 Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and industry best practices.

 Familiarity with relevant regulations, codes, and standards.

 Ability to work in office trailer and construction environment.

Salary Information

$80000.0 - $105000.0 Annual Salary
