Warehouse Associate 

American Soy Products (ASP) – located in Saline, MI. ASP is part of Morgan Foods, Inc., a privately held company with headquarters in Austin, IN. Position Summary

The Warehouse Associate is responsible for the safe and efficient movement, storage, and handling of finished goods and raw materials within the warehouse. This hands-on role supports daily shipping, receiving, inventory control, and sanitation activities while operating powered industrial equipment. The position requires strict adherence to safety, food handling, and quality standards to ensure accurate inventory, timely shipments, and a clean, organized warehouse environment.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Receive materials from production and inbound shipments; inspect, verify, and slot product into designated warehouse locations.
  • Accurately verify pallet counts, case counts, lot codes, and purchase orders to ensure correct receiving documentation.
  • Stage and consolidate product for outbound customer shipments to maximize space utilization and shipping efficiency.
  • Maintain compliance with food safety, quality, and worker safety regulations, including Organic, Kosher, allergen, and company standards.
  • Safely operate forklifts (hi-lo) and other material handling equipment to move, stack, and store product.
  • Load trailers accurately and efficiently, ensuring correct product, quantities, and load stability.
  • Inspect finished goods pallets for damage, quality issues, and proper labeling prior to shipment or storage.
  • Follow and enforce FIFO (First-In, First-Out) procedures to maintain product integrity.
  • Assist with cycle counts and quarterly inventory counts, ensuring accurate physical inventory.
  • Monitor product rework areas and QC sample locations, maintaining organization and traceability.
  • Communicate discrepancies or issues promptly to the Warehouse Supervisor.
  • Conduct daily sanitation and housekeeping activities to maintain a clean, organized, and safe warehouse.
  • Inspect forklifts, pallet racking, and warehouse equipment; report unsafe conditions or damage immediately.
  • Maintain forklift battery water levels and keep equipment clean and in proper working condition.
  • Comply with all safety policies, PPE requirements, and OSHA guidelines.
  • Support continuous improvement efforts related to warehouse organization, safety, and efficiency.
  • Perform additional warehouse duties as assigned to support daily operations.

 

Job Requirements

  • Certified or licensed forklift (hi-lo) operator or ability to become certified.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform repetitive physical tasks.
  • Basic math skills and ability to use warehouse computer systems or scanners.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
  • Reliable attendance and punctuality.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced warehouse environment while following safety and quality standards.

Salary Information

$17.75 - $18.45 Annual Salary
