In this specialized lab role, you’ll create custom medications—like capsules, creams, lollipops, and more—for patients who need alternatives to mass-produced drugs. You’ll work under the guidance of licensed pharmacists and get valuable exposure to both non-sterile and, potentially, sterile compounding practices.


 

What You'll Do

  • Create Custom Medications
    Compound unique formulations including capsules, oral liquids, topical creams, troches, suppositories, and more.
     
  • Label & Prepare Prescriptions
    Accurately fill, label, and prepackage medications for pharmacist verification and patient use.
     
  • Maintain Inventory & Safety Standards
    Monitor chemical stock, receive supplies, manage safety documentation (SDS, Certificates of Analysis), and handle hazardous materials safely.
     
  • Keep the Lab Clean & Compliant
    Perform routine cleaning and environmental monitoring to ensure the lab meets all regulatory standards.

Requirements:

Education and Experience

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • Compounding laboratory experience a plus, but not required.
  • Pharmacy Technician Registration/Certification a plus

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Attention to Detail is a must.
  • Ability to stand for prolonged periods of time
  • Ability to lift 40 lbs
  • Standards for quality, cleanliness and safety must be consistently met.
  • Must be collaborative and able to perform as part of a team
  • Knowledge of and follow applicable Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Ability to take direction and be coached.
  • Must be able to learn applicable regulations and adhere to them at all times.
  • Knowledge of applicable pharmacy software(s) a plus.
  • Ability to read, write, and perform simple math.


Salary Information

$20.00 - $25.00 Hourly Wage
