POSITION SUMMARY (“What are we looking for?”)

 

The Direct-to-Consumer (DTC) Specialist will play a key role in supporting the growth and optimization of our direct-to-consumer business on thehonestkitchen.com. Reporting to the DTC Senior Manager, this role will help execute and support key initiatives and day-to-day operations across the Shopify storefront, subscription program, and loyalty ecosystems.

 

This role will play an integral part in maintaining accurate product information across the DTC channel, including ownership of product data updates and coordination across Smartsheets, Salsify, and Shopify. The DTC Specialist will also own the upkeep of reporting templates, helping ensure performance data is accurate, timely, and actionable. This is a great opportunity for someone looking to build a foundation in eCommerce, digital merchandising, and DTC operations within a fast-paced, mission-driven pet food brand.

 

This role actively collaborates with cross-functional partners in revenue, operations, logistics, finance, and customer service as well as outside agencies and tech stack partners.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Support the day-to-day operations of the Shopify DTC channel, working closely with the DTC Senior Manager to execute site updates, promotions, and initiatives.
  • Own the maintenance and accuracy of DTC reporting templates, ensuring data is updated regularly and shared with key stakeholders.
  • Assist in the execution and ongoing optimization of subscription and loyalty programs, including testing offers, implementing program changes, and monitoring performance.
  • Support conversion rate optimization (CRO) by helping implement A/B tests and site enhancements in partnership with internal teams and external agencies.
  • Coordinate with external development and analytics agency partners, including submitting tickets, tracking requests, updating timelines, and QA of deliverables.
  • Help maintain website compliance, including ADA accessibility standards and trap and trace requirements, in collaboration with internal stakeholders and agency partners.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date product information across DTC systems, including Smartsheets, Salsify (PIM), and Shopify.
  • Play a key role in product launches, SKU updates, and content changes to ensure consistent product data, pricing, and merchandising across the DTC channel.
  • Monitor site performance and customer experience issues, escalating opportunities or concerns to the DTC Senior Manager.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Finance, Customer Support, Operations, and other teams as needed.

  • Strong attention to detail with a proactive, problem-solving mindset.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and drive multiple threads of work to completion.
  • Must have excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively within a collaborative, cross-functional environment. 
  • Comfortable in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Must be able to successfully work in a remote environment.
  • Must love animals and be passionate about their health.

    REQUIRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, Business, E-commerce, Analytics, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 2 years of experience in eCommerce, digital marketing, or DTC operations.
  • Familiarity with Shopify or other eCommerce platforms is a strong plus.
  • Interest in subscription, loyalty, and retention-focused eCommerce models.
  • Comfort working with data and reports; experience with Excel required.
  • Exposure to PIM systems (e.g., Salsify), Smartsheets, or product data management tools.

  • The salary range for this role is: $65,000-$80,000/year
