Forefront Living is opening a brand-new continuing care retirement community in Plano, Texas called The Outlook at Windhaven. We are seeking exceptional candidates for our Wellness Coordinator position to be a part of our growing team.

The Wellness Coordinator (Fitness) is responsible for coordinating activities and classes in wellness center operation including collaborating with facility, interacting with participants, programs and equipment upkeep and participant safety.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Models a service attitude towards others, takes ownership in solving problems and takes the initiative to make things better, is friendly and courteous to residents, patients, and co-workers.
  • Instruct and lead land and water-based programs in accordance with Facility Policies and State Regulations.
  • Encourage and recruit participation in the Wellness program.
  • Promote Wellness programming in collaboration with supervisor through internal marketing such as: flyers, monthly calendar of events, in-services, meet-and-greets, etc.
  • Maintain Wellness participant database for individual and group outcomes.
  • Make rounds through exercise area and locker rooms to monitor for cleanliness, safety, and resident assistance needs.
  • Collaborate with supervisor to develop and implement policies and procedures for both land and water-based programs.
  • Coordinate and oversee contracted health fitness services, i.e., Tai Chi, Yoga, etc. as needed.
  • Collaborate with facility for Wellness/Health Fair for residents and employees on annual basis.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Resident Services.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience with mature adult exercise programming preferred.
  • Degree in Exercise Physiology or in Health and Fitness related field.
  • Experience in Cardiac Rehab

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

  • Excellent communication skills including verbal, written and presentation.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Ability to create an atmosphere of high energy and motivation to encourage participation in wellness programs.
  • Ability to develop internal and external relationships to support needs of the Wellness Program, i.e., collaborate with independent contractors and volunteers.
  • Demonstrate computer proficiency. Experience in Microsoft Office products and any Health and Wellness software preferred.
  • Ability to lead and instruct both land and water-based exercise programs.
  • CPR and Lifeguard Certification preferred.
  • Genuine caring for and interest in the care of mature adults, handicapped people, and hospice Patients.
  • Ability to perform work tasks within the Physical Demand Requirements as outlined below.
  • Ability to comply with the Resident Bill of Rights and Employee Responsibilities.
  • Ability to comply with organizational and departmental safety policies and procedures.
