Job Title: Building Maintenance Technician (All-Around)Department: Facilities / MaintenanceReports to: Facilities Maintenance Manager / Operations ManagerFLSA: Non-Exempt Possess a valid TWIC. Must have a valid driver’s license and 3 years of driving history that is acceptable to the company's auto insurance carrier. Steal toe boots/shoes. Have excellent written and verbal communication skills. Able to follow verbal and written instructions. Must supply own basic hand tools. Position Summary:We are seeking a skilled and versatile Building Maintenance Technician to perform a wide range of maintenance, repair, and improvement tasks across our facilities. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in multiple trades, including electrical work, plumbing, carpentry, welding, and general building maintenance. This role requires a dependable professional with strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team to ensure facilities remain safe, functional, and well-maintained. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Perform daily repairs on warehouse equipment, dock levelers, roll-up doors, etc.Perform daily, routine, and preventive maintenance on building systems, equipment, grounds, and terminal. Troubleshoot and repair electrical systems, wiring, fixtures, and lighting as required. Install, maintain, and repair plumbing systems, including pipes, faucets, valves, drains, and fixtures. Perform light welding and repair of HVAC, mechanical, and other facility-related systems as directed. Respond to work orders, service calls, and emergency maintenance issues promptly and effectively. Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in a clean, safe, and orderly condition. Keep accurate records of maintenance activities and of scheduled maintenance procedures. May assist in performing minor and major building and equipment repairs. Assist with facility improvement projects, renovations, and upgrades. Works on miscellaneous projects as needed.Perform other duties as assigned to support the overall maintenance and operation of facilities and terminal. Leads by example in demonstrating proper maintenance procedures.Able to function independently, exercise sound judgment, and demonstrate initiative and tact in handling all the above responsibilities.Adhering to the Company’s safety policies and procedures, those set out by OSHA. Inform the supervisor of unsafe situations Anticipated percentage of travel - 0%-5%. Additional duties as assigned. Education & Experience Requirement: High school diploma or GED required: Technical/vocational school training preferred. Minimum of 3 – 5 years of relevant experience in building maintenance or a skilled trade (electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and welding)Experience working in an industrial warehouse, port terminal or commercial facilities preferred. Knowledge and willingness to perform all responsibilities of each position within the team. Education & Experience Requirement: Broad knowledge of building systems and multiple trades (electrical, plumbing, carpentry, welding). Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, diagrams, and blueprints. Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.Excellent interpersonal skills, respectful and kind to self and others. Ability to frequently use hands and arms to grab, handle, or feel, and reach. Ability to occasionally sit and stoop, kneel, crouch, climb, or crawl. Ability to occasionally climb ladders or stairs. Ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 150 pounds, with assistance or lifting machinery as necessary. Must wear Seaonus required safety PPE, Safety vest, hardhat, gloves, etc. Vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Working indoors and outdoors. Excessive heat or cold, extreme weather conditions, excessive humidity or dampness, or chilling. Slippery and uneven walking surfaces.
Work Schedule: Hours may vary from Monday to Friday, with overtime, weekends, and holidays as needed. Work can occur for 6 or 7 consecutive days.
