Description:
Precision Healthcare Specialists is seeking a skilled and compassionate Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) to join our Urology team. The CMA will support our providers in delivering high-quality patient care by assisting with clinical procedures, patient intake, documentation, and coordination of care in a fast-paced specialty practice.
This position plays a vital role in ensuring an efficient clinic flow while maintaining exceptional patient experience and clinical accuracy.
Key Responsibilities
- Room patients and obtain vital signs, medical history, and chief complaints
- Prepare patients for urological exams and in-office procedures
- Assist the provider during examinations and minor surgical procedures
- Perform clinical duties including injections, catheterization assistance, bladder scans, specimen collection, EKGs, and point-of-care testing as appropriate
- Administer medications as directed by the provider
- Process lab specimens and ensure proper documentation
- Provide patient education regarding medications, procedures, and follow-up care
- Complete accurate documentation in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR)
- Coordinate referrals, prior authorizations, and diagnostic testing
- Maintain exam room cleanliness and stock supplies
- Follow infection control and OSHA standards
- Maintain HIPAA compliance at all times
- Current Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) certification required (AAMA, NHA, or equivalent)
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Minimum 1 year of clinical experience preferred
- Prior urology or specialty practice experience preferred
- Proficiency with EMR systems
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
- Current BLS/CPR certification preferred
