About this position
SUMMARY/PURPOSE |
The Electrical Program Instructor position is responsible for providing quality instruction to diverse adult learners aligned with the Council on Occupational Education’s standards for Pre-Apprentice Construction certification. This position works continuously to support Summit’s mission to prepare students for living-wage jobs through training, curriculum development, and classroom management. |

WORK ENVIRONMENT |
This job operates in a professional school setting, which requires instructors to maintain a professional appearance and attitude. The work environment is fast-paced and requires time management and prioritization of job duties. This role will work indoors and outdoors and be exposed to various construction and electrical environments, requiring industry knowledge and safety. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines. |

POSITION TYPE AND EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK |
This is a full-time, exempt position under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA); it is not eligible for overtime pay. Hours are Monday through Friday, 7:30 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. Some evenings and weekends may be required to meet the expectations of this position. |

Local travel may be required to fulfill job duties. |
