SUMMARY

The Director of Institutional Planning and Analysis provides leadership in institutional effectiveness, research, planning, assessment, and accreditation at Rosemont College. This role is essential in linking planning, budgeting, and assessment across the institution to enhance the student experience and improve recruitment, retention, persistence, and completion rates. The Director is responsible for ensuring the effective use of data in decision-making, supporting continuous improvement of student learning outcomes, and contributing to the development and evaluation of institutional policies.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Strategic Planning and Institutional Effectiveness:

    • Execute and manage systematic planning processes (institutional, operational, and assessment) that align with Rosemont College's strategic priorities.
    • Lead the development and implementation of a comprehensive system for institutional strategic planning, supporting the College's mission and goals.
    • Support Senior Administrative Offices in analyzing operational processes and developing standard policies and procedures to enhance operational effectiveness.

Institutional Research and Data Management:

    • Act as the Institutional Research Coordinator, responsible for reporting to federal, state, and internal constituents, including IPEDS, NC SARA, NCAA, CACREP, PA DOE, and others.
    • Oversee the completion of the Middle States Annual Institutional Update and any related supplemental or follow-up reporting.
    • Create and analyze data to support annual audits and other compliance-related activities.
    • Work with the IT department to develop reports that meet campus data collection needs, ensuring the availability of current and historical data for informed decision-making.
    • Develop and maintain a comprehensive data repository for institutional use.

Assessment and Accreditation:

    • Ensure the timely execution of the assessment cycle, providing training and guidance on assessment and planning processes across the campus.
    • Assume the role of Accreditation Liaison Officer, overseeing all accreditation-related activities and ensuring compliance with accrediting bodies.
    • Manage all campus and departmental surveys, analyzing results to inform institutional improvements.
    • Oversee and coordinate all committees supporting institutional planning, assessment, and accreditation efforts. e.g. Assessment Council

Program Review and Continuous Improvement:

    • Develop and implement a system for assessing the effectiveness of institutional, academic, and co-curricular programs and services.
    • Coordinate college-wide systems of academic and service area program reviews, providing orientation and support to departments in designing and conducting reviews.
    • Compile, analyze, and disseminate data on various aspects of the College to support continuous improvement initiatives.

Reporting and Documentation:

    • Compile and produce the College's annual end-of-year report, synthesizing data and outcomes from across departments.
    • Provide relevant, timely, and accurate information to the administration and faculty in support of program review, planning, budgeting, and decision-making processes.

Collaboration and Communication:

    • Collaborate effectively with College administration, faculty, and staff to ensure alignment with institutional goals and strategies.
    • Provide training sessions on assessment, planning, and data utilization to enhance institutional effectiveness.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education and Experience:

  • Master’s degree in a relevant field such as curriculum, instruction, design, quantitative or qualitative research, or a related area from a regionally accredited college or university.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in higher education, with a focus on assessment, institutional research, curriculum development, or a related field.
  • Knowledge of accreditation processes, including MSCHE expectations and requirements, as well as federal and state reporting standards.
  • Demonstrated increasing responsibilities within an educational setting.

Technical Skills:

  • Proficiency in data management, statistical analysis, and reporting tools, with experience in software such as Jenzabar, Infomaker, Excel, and PowerBI.
  • Strong computer skills, particularly in Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel).
  • Familiarity with integrated software systems and database report writers.

  • Ability to collaborate effectively with College administration, faculty, and staff to reach consensus on student learning outcomes and apply benchmarking techniques.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to collect, manage, analyze, and interpret a broad range of institutional data.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Higher Education experience.
  • Familiarity with student information systems and data analysis software.
  • Experience in academic records management and administrative organization.
