About the Role:
The Unarmed Security Guard plays a critical role in maintaining a safe and secure environment for personnel, visitors, and property within assigned locations across the United States. This position involves vigilant monitoring of premises to prevent unauthorized access, property damage, and potential safety hazards. The guard will operate various security systems, including fire alarms and radio communication devices, to respond promptly to incidents and emergencies. By conducting regular patrols and access control checks, the guard ensures compliance with safety protocols and company policies. Ultimately, this role contributes to the overall security strategy by providing a visible deterrent to unlawful activities and supporting emergency response efforts.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid security guard license or certification as required by state regulations.
- Basic knowledge of fire control and fire alarm systems.
- Ability to operate radio communication equipment effectively.
- Physical ability to perform patrol duties, including climbing stairs and standing for extended periods.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous experience as an unarmed security guard or in a related security role.
- Training in emergency response and first aid.
- Familiarity with control room operations and security monitoring technology.
- Knowledge of preventive maintenance procedures for security equipment.
- Strong observational and report-writing skills.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct routine patrols of assigned areas, including climbing stairs and inspecting premises to detect and prevent security breaches or hazards.
- Monitor and operate fire control systems and fire alarms to ensure early detection and response to fire emergencies.
- Manage access control by verifying credentials and authorizing entry to authorized personnel and visitors.
- Maintain constant communication with the control room and other security personnel using radio communication devices to report incidents or suspicious activities.
- Perform preventive maintenance checks on security equipment and promptly report any malfunctions or property damage.
- Document daily activities, incidents, and irregularities such as equipment or property damage, theft, presence of unauthorized persons, or unusual occurrences.
- Assist in emergency response procedures and coordinate with emergency services when necessary.
