Position Summary
Kanza Mental Health & Guidance Center offers internship opportunities for students seeking to gain hands-on experience in the behavioral health and human services field. Interns will have the opportunity to apply classroom learning in a professional setting, develop career-related skills, and contribute to meaningful projects that support our mission of improving the quality of life for individuals and families in our community.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Assist staff with assigned projects, research, and administrative support.
- Observe and participate in client services, meetings, and programs (as appropriate to academic requirements and confidentiality guidelines).
- Conduct research and prepare reports or presentations as needed.
- Support community outreach, education, and program development activities.
- Maintain professional conduct, confidentiality, and ethical standards at all times.
- Complete required hours as determined by academic program or internship agreement.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Currently enrolled in a college or university program (undergraduate or graduate).
- Preferred areas of study: Psychology, Social Work, Human Services, Counseling, Public Health, Business Administration, or related fields.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
- Professionalism, dependability, and a willingness to learn.
Internship Details
- Schedule: Flexible; based on academic requirements and organizational needs.
- Location: Hiawatha, KS
- Duration: Typically one semester (may vary depending on student/employer need).
