Job Description

Position SummaryAs an Audit Associate, you will play a key role in performing audits and assurance services, with a primary focus on nonprofit clients and Single Audits (Uniform Guidance). You’ll work under the supervision of senior auditors and managers to conduct fieldwork, prepare audit documentation, and ensure compliance with both generally accepted auditing standards (GAAS) and government auditing standards (GAGAS).

Key ResponsibilitiesPerform audit procedures in accordance with GAASAssist in planning and executing audits of nonprofit organizations, including those subject to Single Audit requirementsPrepare workpapers and audit documentation supporting audit conclusionsReview financial statements for accuracy and compliance with U.S. GAAPConduct internal control and risk assessments during fieldworkPerform compliance testing related to federal and state grantsCommunicate effectively with clients regarding audit issues, deadlines, and required informationCollaborate with team members to ensure timely completion of engagementsStay current on updates to GAAPQualificationsRequired:

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related fieldCPA-eligible (or working toward CPA licensure in Texas)Strong analytical, organizational, and time management skillsAbility to travel to client locations within Texas as neededExcellent verbal and written communication skillsProficiency in Microsoft Excel and WordPreferred:

Internship or 1+ year of experience in public accounting or auditExposure to nonprofit accounting or Single Audit engagementsExperience with audit software
