About this position
The Director of Corporate and Foundation Relations is responsible for developing and managing strategic partnerships with corporations and private foundations to advance the mission, programs, and priorities of HU. This includes identifying, cultivating, securing funding and stewarding foundation, government and corporate partnerships and grants regionally and nationally. This position leads efforts to secure funding from institutional donors through proactive identification, cultivation, solicitation and stewardship of corporate and foundation prospects.
Working closely with senior leadership, faculty, and program directors, the Director will align funding opportunities with institutional goals, draft compelling proposals, and ensure strong relationships with funding partners. The role requires a strategic thinker, skilled communicator, and collaborative team member who can navigate complex organizations and effectively build philanthropic investment.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Develop and implement a comprehensive strategy to increase philanthropic support from corporations and foundations.
Identify new funding opportunities aligned with institutional needs and strategic priorities.
Research and evaluate prospective corporate and foundation funders using databases, networks and internal resources.
Build and manage a portfolio of institutional prospects and existing donors.
Lead the development and submission of grant proposals and reports.
Ensure compliance with funder guidelines and institutional policies.
Track grant deadlines, stewardship requirements and renewal timelines.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's degree required.
3-5 years of experience in fundraising, grant writing or corporate relations experience, with a proven track record of securing major grants or major gifts from funders.
