Position Overview:
Oversee aspects of care in accordance with physician's orders, resident, and family needs.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Coach & lead those staff members reporting to Charge LPN - work as one 'Team' to keep things running smoothly.
- Responsible for dispensing medications to residents.
- Charting & paperwork - Ensures all reporting requirements are met and completes all required paperwork; ie infection control, accident/incident reports, etc.
- Complete MDS+ on residents per assigned unit(s).
- Sterile technique / aseptic technique.
- Skin assessment, Decubitus Care, Dressings / Irrigations, Catheterization, Tropical applications.
Basic Duties & Responsibilities:
- Assists with issues that arise while on duty.
- Assist with wing staff evaluations.
- Assist with physician rounds.
- Working with residents and staff.
- All other Duties as assigned.
Education Required:
- LPN license
Experience Required:
- Dispensing meds and Medical aspects.
- Previous charge and/or long-term care experience preferred.
Additional Qualifications:
- Excellent supervisory skills and ability to be a good listener are beneficial to successful performance in this position.
- Ability to practice choice theory may also be required.
- Must be able to communicate with staff, residents, and the families of the residents.
- Resident-focused at all times, while acting as a pleasant professional is essential.
- Task-centeredness, punctuality, and a pleasant demeanor are beneficial to successful performance in this position.
