Our team plays a critical role in ensuring consistent, high‑quality material flow across our broader manufacturing network.
We are seeking an experienced Onsite Operations Manager to lead daily operations, strengthen performance, and uphold the highest standards of safety, quality, and productivity.
Position Overview
The Onsite Operations Manager is responsible for planning, directing, and coordinating all onsite operational activities. This includes leadership of supervisors and production teams across multiple departments. The ideal candidate is hands‑on, results‑driven, and capable of driving operational excellence in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
Operational Leadership
- Direct and coordinate daily production activities for wire draw and mesh product operations.
- Oversee performance across all shifts to ensure efficient, continuous production.
- Prepare staffing schedules and assign work duties to maintain proper coverage.
Safety, Quality & Performance
- Ensure shop‑floor performance aligns with company expectations for:
- Safety
- Production output
- Scrap and waste levels
- Expense and labor budgeting
- Quality (PPM targets)
- Gross margin impact
- Implement and sustain operational disciplines that enhance efficiency and improve performance metrics.
Materials & Inventory Coordination
- Maintain accurate inventory levels to support production requirements and internal customer demand.
- Partner with Materials Management to execute and adjust production schedules as needed.
Maintenance & Supplier Collaboration
- Work closely with Maintenance to ensure machines and equipment meet reliability and uptime expectations.
- Monitor suppliers to ensure timely, cost‑effective delivery of inputs and services.
Training & Workforce Development
- Ensure execution of training programs for all production personnel.
- Identify skill gaps and recommend additional training or certification needs for operators.
Internal Customer Support
- Ensure on‑time production and delivery of the correct wire and mesh materials for downstream fabrication facilities.
- Maintain close coordination with Fabrication, Finishing, Maintenance, and Shipping departments to support overall workflow.
Continuous Improvement
- Drive improvements in scrap reduction, productivity, workplace safety, 5S, and operational efficiency.
- Lead existing programs while identifying opportunities for new initiatives to enhance results.
Supervisory Responsibilities
- Direct oversight of Wire Draw / Fabrication Supervisors (depending on facility structure)
Qualifications
- Technical degree or certifications in production, operations, or inventory control.
- Minimum 5 years of operational leadership experience in a manufacturing environment; metals or wire draw experience preferred.
- Strong problem‑solving skills with hands‑on, detail‑oriented leadership style.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
- English fluency required.
