Job Title: CAD/CAM Dental Technician

Position Overview

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented CAD/CAM Dental Technician to join our dental laboratory team. This position is responsible for designing and manufacturing high-quality dental restorations using advanced CAD/CAM technology. The ideal candidate has a strong technical background, a keen eye for detail, and experience working in a fast-paced dental lab environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design dental restorations (crowns, bridges, implants, veneers, full-arch cases) using CAD software (e.g., Exocad, 3Shape).
  • Operate 3D printers, and related scanning systems.
  • Review and evaluate digital impressions and case prescriptions from dentists.
  • Ensure proper material selection (zirconia, lithium disilicate, PMMA, etc.) based on case requirements.
  • Perform quality control checks on designs and final products.
  • Collaborate with other dental technicians (ceramists, model techs, finishing techs) to ensure case accuracy and timely completion.
  • Maintain and troubleshoot CAD/CAM equipment as needed.
  • Follow laboratory protocols and meet production deadlines.
  • Maintain accurate digital case records and documentation.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 3 years of CAD/CAM experience in a dental laboratory preferred.
  • Photogrammetry is a plus.
  • Proficiency in dental CAD software (Exocad and/or 3Shape preferred).
  • Understanding of dental anatomy, occlusion, and restorative design principles.
  • Strong attention to detail and quality control standards.
  • Ability to manage multiple cases and meet deadlines.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Preferred Skills

  • Implant design experience (custom abutments, hybrid bars, All-on-X cases).
  • Knowledge of digital workflows and intraoral scanning systems.
  • Basic equipment maintenance and troubleshooting skills.
  • Experience with zirconia staining and finishing is a plus.

Work Environment

  • Fast-paced dental laboratory setting.
  • Primarily computer-based design work with hands-on equipment operation.
  • May require sitting for extended periods.
