About this position
Position SummaryThe Facilities Mechanic maintains and repairs a variety of building systems, including HVAC, plumbing and electrical components. Position Duties and ResponsibilitiesPerform routine maintenance and repairs on HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems. Assist with installation and adjustment of thermostats, timers, and system controls. Troubleshoot and diagnose issues across multiple building systems using appropriate tools. Conduct preventive maintenance and maintain accurate records using CMMS software. Repair or replace defective components, wiring, and equipment, test circuits for continuity. Maintain inventory of tools and parts; ensure work areas are organized and safe. Respond promptly to emergency repair calls and participate in on-call rotation. Support contractors and monitor compliance during renovations or major projects. Enforce safety standards, including PPE usage and lockout/tagout procedures. Communicate effectively with team members and management to support operational goals. Other tasks and projects as assigned by management. Protect employer’s privacy and data; keep passwords safe. Knowledge and Skill Ability to lift up to 80lbs occasionally and perform tasks requiring bending, kneeling, and climbing. Comfortable working in varied environments, including rooftops and confined spaces. Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends when needed.
- Working knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in facilities maintenance or related field.
- Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and wiring diagrams.
- Familiarity with building automation systems and preventive maintenance practices.
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical certifications preferred.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to use hand and power tools safely.
