Medical RECEPTIONIST Wellness

We know that our people are the key to our success. We are a CCRC situated on a beautiful 50-acre campus with warm and friendly staff. Primary PurposeUnder the direction of the Director of Wellness the Medical Receptionist will answer and direct incoming calls to appropriate individuals. The medical assistant will assist nursing staff with routine clerical functions related to patient scheduling, routine front office and administrative duties. The Medical Receptionist will greet residents and staff, make appointments and follow-up as directed. Duties and ResponsibilitiesAnswer and direct incoming phone calls to appropriate individuals.Greet patient/clients, secure nature of visits and direct to appropriate individual.Work with resident/family to adequately explain departmental procedures and processes.Maintain schedules and calendars and schedule doctors' appointments in digital electronic record.Make medical transportation arrangements with the Transportation Services Department.Make follow-up appointments and schedule tests as ordered by medical providers.Process mail order prescription requests as needed.Distribute reminder notices for the medical appointmentsPrepare laboratory slips for MLCL - ICD 10 Codes and make laboratory appointments.Prepare new resident files by making sure that the files are complete for new resident physical appointment.Pull charts for doctor, prepare schedule and billing slips.Sort, screen, and distribute incoming mail and process outgoing mail from the department.Compile and post information on standard forms. Using specific formats and systems enter a variety of clinical and administrative data and review for accuracy.Perform administrative functions incidental to front office activity.Prepare routine digital medical record duties such as filing/scanning information in active charts, copy and fax materials accordingly.Order and keep department supplied within the necessary office supplies.Complete various departmental administrative projects. Qualifications/Skills A minimum of two years’ experience in a medical office/unit preferredKnowledge of medical terminology.Experience with Digital Medical Record systemOrganization and accuracy skills necessaryProficient in computers.Excellent oral and written communication skills. Physical Requirements Must be able to move intermittently throughout the day.Long periods of sitting and standing.Must be able to relate to and work with the ill, disabled, elderly, emotionally upset and at some times, hostile people within the facility.Must be able to lift, push and move a minimum of 50 pounds.Must be able to assist in the evacuation of residents. EducationHigh School Diploma or GED required. Other DutiesCompliance Must comply with all compliance, ethics, safety, security and company policies.
