Description:

  • Dispensing and recording of all medications accurately and according to policy and procedures of the organization.
  • Supervising and directing all nursing care for the nursing unit, including informing and ensuring that all nursing aides are adequately informed of their residents' needs.
  • Carrying out all orders prescribed by the physician accurately, ensuring that all meds and equipment are available in a timely manner.
  • Assigning responsibility for direct resident care to the nursing staff and ensuring that the care is rendered according to the organization's policies and procedures.
  • Ensuring that the resident's MDS and care plan correctly depict the resident's condition and plan of care and ensuring that the plan of care is followed for each resident.
  • Utilizing basic nursing assessment skills for ongoing assessment and observation of the resident to ensure that the resident remains in their optimum level of health.
  • Involving the resident, family and other health team members in the care plan process and informing them of the goals that need to be attained.
  • Monitoring the resident's diagnostic tests and results and reporting results to the physician and monitoring and assessing the interventions.
  • Communicating the progress or lack of progress to physicians, nurses and aides. Notifies supervisory personnel of any changes or problems.
  • Participates in the Rehabilitation and Restorative Programs to ensure that all residents are reaching their maximal level of function.
  • Delegates responsibility to nursing aides and monitors the care delivered by the aides. Insures that all care is being delivered to all the residents appropriately.
  • Manages all daily assignments by setting priorities. The Charge Nurse is to be responsible for assuring that all care is rendered according to priority.
  • Identifies unit, staff and resident problems and takes action or refers problems to the appropriate personnel or department when indicated.
  • Assists with the orientation of all new personnel and ensures that problems are identified and directed to supervisory personnel.
  • Assists with all CQI monitoring, ensuring that all proper procedures are followed and documented accurately.
  • Supervises the performance of all nursing personnel on the unit and participates in the probationary and annual evaluations of all personnel.
  • Ensures that all documentation accurately reflects the condition of the residents and is completed according to the organization's policies and procedures.
  • Ensures that all documentation of the nursing aides accurately reflects the resident's functional status and is completed according to the organization's policies and procedures.
  • Communicates all pertinent changes in condition to the attending physician utilizing Nursing assessment, communicating all VS and observations and charts the same.
Requirements:

  • Associate's Degree in Nursing
  • Valid Illinois LPN license in good standing
  • Minimum 6 months experience in Senior Living preferred

$34.00 - $34.00 Hourly Wage
