LASMTC is looking to add a bilingual receptionist to our Nashville office. Working alongside our office manager, the bilingual receptionist will spend most of their time answering phones, managing the voicemail box, and welcoming visitors in English and either Arabic or Spanish. This position is funded in part by, and in collaboration with, one or more grants. Personnel must adhere to goals and outcomes detailed in the grant contract. This position is funded for the duration of the grant and subsequent renewal may result in modification of job duties and responsibilities.


Salary Information

$43750 - $50000 Annual Salary

Requirements

  

Responsibilities include:

Conduct initial intake interview and screen applicants for legal issues, conflicts of interest, and eligibility. Make referrals to private attorneys or other agencies as appropriate.

Assist case handlers with scheduling meetings and receiving guests. 

Provide interpretation and translation services. 

Troubleshoot facility and office operations issues.

Maintain community education materials.

Provide backup for other support staff, as needed.

Process US mail, including pick up, delivery of incoming mail, and handling of outgoing mail. Provide general clerical support, such as legal typing, copying, filing, etc.



Qualifications 

  

Minimum: High School diploma or GED. An associate's degree is preferred.

2 years of prior experience working in a law office, court, social service agency, or other relevant settings. 

Experience working with low-income people.

Basic proficiency in Windows and Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel software.

Effective oral and written communication skills, including in client interviews and helping people in crisis. Proficiency in use of office equipment (copiers, scanners, facsimile, postage machine, etc.).

Smart and coachable with a high degree of initiative and emotional intelligence

Fluency in written and spoken Spanish or Arabic.
