Human Resources Administrative Assistant

Overview
Commercial Express HVAC is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Human Resources Administrative Assistant to join our team! In this essential role, you'll support the HR Director and play a key part in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of our HR department. From onboarding to payroll administration, your organizational skills and positive attitude will help maintain a productive and engaging workplace environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate onboarding of new employees, including preparation of materials and orientation sessions
• Review and correct timesheets for accuracy and compliance for over 100 employees
• Maintain and update employee records and access credentials in internal systems
• Organize and secure confidential personnel files in accordance with company policies
• Process and track background checks and security clearance documentation
• Support HR events, employee recognition programs, and communications
• Monitor and order office supplies as needed

 Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in an administrative or office environment
• Strong working knowledge of HR administrative processes and best practices
• Payroll and timesheet administration experience is essential
• Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
• Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills
• Clear and professional verbal and written communication
• Familiarity with I-9, E-Verify, and background screening processes
• Experience with health benefits administration
• Experience using Paylocity is a plus
• Self-starter with a positive attitude and willingness to learn
