About this position

The WIOA Business Service Manager oversees and implements business service strategies under the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) to bridge workforce needs with employer demand. This position manages partnerships with local businesses, provides employment services, and collaborates with workforce teams to ensure job seekers are prepared and connected to quality employment. The WIOA Business Service Manager is responsible for engaging local employers, conducting outreach, and delivering programs that meet the community's economic and workforce development needs. This role is ideal for someone passionate about workforce development, with a strong understanding of labor market trends and excellent interpersonal skills. The WIOA Business Service Manager contributes to creating pathways to employment, supporting economic growth, and fostering sustainable workforce development in the community.

Salary Information

$32 - $34.13 Hourly Wage

Requirements

  •  Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Human Resources, Workforce Development, or a related field (preferred).
  • 3+ years of experience in business engagement, workforce development, economic development, or a related field.
  • Familiarity with WIOA regulations, employment and training services, and labor market dynamics.
  • Strong relationship-building, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency in data analysis and reporting.
  • Knowledge of the local job market, industry trends, and community resources.
  • Excellent communication and public speaking skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Strong project management and problem-solving abilities.
  • Customer-focused with a commitment to high service standards.
  • Proficiency in using workforce information systems and CRM tools.
  • Complete CWDP course and exam within 3 months of employment and secure CWDP certification within 12 months of employment.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS/WORKING CONDITIONS

While performing the essential functions of this job, the incumbent must be able to do the following: stand for extended periods; sit for extended periods; bend and reach for filing and other job-related functions; climb up and down stairs; bend, stoop, and lift to move and retrieve materials; pull, push, and lift; reach both above and below shoulder height.  Specific visual abilities include close vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Must be able to inspect work visually. Manual dexterity is required to operate computers and other office equipment.
