Overview

The Facilities Supervisor is responsible for supervising the daily operations of the hospital's Facilities/Plant Operations team to ensure the safe, compliant, and uninterrupted operation of building systems. This role provides frontline leadership for maintenance staff, coordinates work activities, ensures regulatory compliance, and supports emergency response and life-safety readiness in a 24/7 healthcare environment.

This position is typically scheduled Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. It requires schedule flexibility to respond to facility issues, emergency events, inclement weather, and other operational needs in a 24/7 healthcare environment.

Qualifications

Education

• High school diploma or GED required

• Technical or trade school education preferred

Experience

• Minimum of five (5) years of experience in facilities maintenance

• Minimum of two (2) years of supervisory or lead experience

• Prior hospital or healthcare facilities experience strongly preferred

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Strong working knowledge of hospital building systems and infrastructure

• Knowledge of healthcare regulatory and accreditation requirements

• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and equipment manuals

• Strong leadership, communication, and documentation skills

• Proficiency with CMMS platforms, specifically the Work Hubs system

• Ability to remain calm, organized, and decisive during emergencies

LICENSES & CERTIFICATIONS (Preferred)

• HVAC, electrical, or plumbing license (as applicable)

• Boiler operator certification

• Emergency generator operation certification
