We are searching for a creative, independent, and energetic person for a post-doctoral position to work with faculty in the Tumor Microenvironment and Metastasis Program (https://einsteinmed.edu/centers/cancer/research-programs/tumor-microenvironment/), and the Integrated Imaging Program for Cancer Research at the Albert Einstein Cancer Center (https://einsteinmed.edu/centers/cancer/) and the Department of Surgery (https://www.montefiore.org/surgery) under the supervision of Drs. John Condeelis (https://einsteinmed.edu/faculty/6712/john-condeelis/) and John C. McAuliffe (https://www.einsteinmed.edu/faculty/15304/john-mcauliffe) in New York City.

The candidate will work within a newly funded research program focused on studying pancreatic adenocarcinoma tumor microenvironment and the mechanisms of metastasis. We are looking for an enthusiastic, organized, and highly motivated individual to work as part of a multidisciplinary team of physician-scientists, physicists, and cancer biologists. The project requires the use of state-of-the-art intravital microscopy of tumors in live animals to determine 1) the mechanisms underlying invasion, migration, and extravasation of cancer cells from primary tumors; 2) the role of stem programs in the formation of metastatic foci; and 3) the effect of targeted therapies on metastasis. The project requires the use and development of transgenic mouse models, surgical technique for orthotopic models, and multiplex immunofluorescence techniques.

Applicants must 1) already have, or be about to have, successfully completed a PhD in a relevant field (e.g. cancer biology, molecular biology, etc.); 2) have experience in cell culture; 3) have some experience in microscopy and image analysis; and 4) be willing to work with live mice. An applicant must be strong in troubleshooting and experimental design and have publications illustrating such expertise.
