We are seeking a Trade Compliance Manager reporting to the Customer Supply Chain Manager, who will be responsible for leading and maintaining the organization's global trade compliance program, freight forwarder and broker operations, and assessing trade legislation changes impact on company products. 

This role ensures adherence to U.S. and international import and export regulations, sanctions programs, customs requirements, and internal compliance standards. The position requires strong subject matter expertise in USA duty drawbacks, free trade agreements, vendor compliance (Know Your Customer), incoterms, along with the ability to partner cross functionally to mitigate risk, optimize processes, and support compliant international trade operations. 


What You’ll Do

  • Perform daily management of the trade compliance functions: 
  • ISF filling report compliance audit (import shipments)
  • AES filling report compliance audit (export shipments)
  • COO requests including issue creation and monitoring including HTS Code Classifications accuracy
  • Manage company participation in various FTA agreements (classification, qualification and issue creation as needed) 
  • Answer inquiries regarding CTPAT and other similar certifications
  • Develop and implement comprehensive global trade & compliance policies and procedures, ensuring alignment with industry best practices. 
  • Conduct annual audits to ensure standard operating procedures are being followed. 
  • Create and provide training in the areas of Compliance and updates of trade regulation. 
  • Annually prepare letters to raw material manufacturers for updated FTA's/COO. 
  • SAP Export/Import database accuracy audits to ensure recordkeeping requirements are met. 
  • Analyze ACE data - developed and manage metrics/statistics to generate reports for management highlighting gaps/risk, and provide resolution strategies, including the coordination of quarterly ACE/AES data Reviews.  
  • Manage KPIs for the oversight of Customs Broker/Freight Forwarder performances and compliance, and make recommendations regarding appropriate performance improvement requirements, including RFP process. 
  • Conduct financial analysis of imported products and duty rates for feasibility. Customs Bond management & Powers of Attorney with third parties.  
  • Responsible for USA Duty Drawback Program including an ongoing analysis and tracking for manufacturing drawback and broker oversight to ensure claims are filed timely and accurately.  
  • Liaise with U.S. Governing Agencies including CBP, CEE, BIS, CENSUS, EPA, FTC, DEA, DOC, DOJ, DOD. 
  • Assist in managing annual reporting requirements for C-TPAT.
  • Drive the development and maintenance of ongoing SAP enhancement projects to achieve efficiencies for compliance activities (FTA Program, Export Audit Reports, Duty Drawback and EDI with Freight Forwarder). 
  • Provide support and assistance to internal stakeholders as required for emergency shipments, global trade questions, supplier/customers documents and/or other information. 
  • Engage with outside counsel and trade consultants on trade compliance issues that arise or trade regulation changes.


What You Bring

 

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, supply chain or logistics
  • 3-5 years in HTS classification and export and import compliance investigations
  • 5 years of International Trade Compliance experience
  • 3 years of Drawback and FTA tax return experience
  • 3-5 years with SAP and Microsoft Office suite products experience

 

Preferred

  • Global Trade Compliance experience in the oil & gas and/or chemicals industry
  • Extensive understanding of U.S. export and import regulations
  • Private-equity backed experience
  • Experience utilizing and extracting data of AES/ACE Portal
  • Strong Project Management experience
