About this position
The Warehouse Lead serves as a working lead, performing daily warehouse duties while supporting warehouse operations through workflow coordination, training, and accountability of warehouse personnel. This role helps ensure efficient receiving, shipping, inventory accuracy, and customer order fulfillment while maintaining safety and compliance with company procedures.
Key Responsibilities
Warehouse Operations (Hands-On)
- Maintain working knowledge of the full order fulfillment process (order entry through billing/delivery)
- Coordinate daily receiving, put-away, picking, staging, and shipping
- Verify outgoing orders are accurate and include proper documentation
- Receive and enter inventory into the warehouse system/sub-ledger
- Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and warehouse equipment safely and efficiently
- Pull customer orders, stock shelves, and assist customers as needed
- Deliver materials to customer locations when required
- Maintain awareness of products sold and markets served
- Partner with management to maintain minimum stock levels
- Support Shipping/Receiving international requirements once trained
Leadership & Coordination
- Serve as point of contact for warehouse staff when management is unavailable
- Assist with onboarding and training new warehouse employees
- Assign and prioritize daily tasks to meet customer deadlines
- Monitor adherence to safety rules, policies, and procedures
- Communicate shortages, operational issues, or concerns promptly
- Lead by example in attendance, productivity, safety, and customer service
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- Valid driver’s license with good driving record
- Previous warehouse/logistics/distribution experience required
- Prior experience as a Material Handler required
- Forklift operation experience required (certification preferred or ability to obtain)
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Strong computer skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office

Physical Requirements / Work Environment
- Frequent standing, walking, bending, reaching, and climbing for 8+ hours
- Ability to lift/push/pull up to 50 lbs. regularly
- Ability to safely operate warehouse equipment
- Visual/auditory ability to read labels, operate machinery, and communicate effectively
- Must be able to work in non-climate-controlled environments
