Licensed Practical Nurse Position Summary
The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) provides direct nursing care to residents in the Skilled Nursing Facility under the supervision of nursing leadership, including the Director of Nursing and Nurse Supervisors. This role is responsible for delivering safe, high-quality clinical care while ensuring accurate documentation and adherence to facility policies, procedures, and state and federal regulations. The LPN plays a critical role in monitoring resident conditions, administering treatments, and supporting continuity of care through effective communication and teamwork. In addition to hands-on resident care, the LPN supervises Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs) to ensure proper care delivery, documentation, and compliance with established care plans.
Qualifications and Requirements
  • Active and unrestricted Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license in the State of Florida
  • Current CPR/AED certification
  • Experience in a Skilled Nursing Facility or long-term care setting preferred but not required
  • Knowledge of Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF) regulations, compliance standards, and infection control practices
  • Ability to provide direct nursing care, including medication administration, treatments, and resident monitoring
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow established policies, procedures, and care plans
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information appropriately
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills with residents, families, and interdisciplinary team members
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a healthcare team and supervise Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs)
  • Basic computer proficiency, including use of electronic medical records (EMR), tablets, or iPads for documentation
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to adapt to changing resident needs
  • Physical ability to meet the demands of the role, including standing, walking, lifting, and assisting residents as required
