Position Overview  

CWF is seeking an Accounts Receivable Associate who will play a key role in ensuring the financial health of both the Federation and Foundation. In this role, you’d manage incoming revenue, process payments, and maintain precise records that support our mission-driven work. Your contributions will help us deliver programs and services that make a real difference in conservation. Additionally, you would be handling the processing and depositing of cheques, credit cards, electronic funds transfer, and cash receipts for these entities. Other duties include managing invoicing, tax receipting for in-kind and select other donations, and any other tasks assigned by management. 

As CWF is a national organization, strong preference will be given to candidates who can fluently speak and understand French. 

Duties and Responsibilities  

  • Records all revenue for the Federation and Foundation.
  • Deposits cheques, cash, and credit card payments for both the Federation and Foundation.
  • Enters and receipts donations/grants received/processed in Customer Relationships Management system (CRM) for the Federation and Foundation.
  • Prepares and issues tax receipts for Foundation, corporations and estates, and in-kind gifts.
  • Conducts year-end reconciliation of tax receipts for both the Foundation and Federation.
  • Assists with other year-end working papers related to receivables.
  • Processes memorial donations, add them to Raiser’s Edge (RE) / Salesforce, and issue receipts and mailings.
  • Manages phone calls related to in-memory/honour donations.
  • Handles invoicing tasks.
  • Assists Accounts Payable with expense claims (occasionally).

Education, Experience, and Abilities 

  • College Diploma in accounting or equivalent experience. 
  • Minimum of 1 year of related experience. 
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy. 
  • Experience with accounting systems and CRM platforms (knowledge of Raiser’s Edge/Salesforce is an asset). 
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines. 
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills. 
  • Ability to communicate effectively in French is considered an asset and is strongly preferred. 

  

Work Conditions 

  • Full-time position, typically working Monday through Friday for 37.5 hours per week. Some overtime may be required.
  • Location: Head Office based in Ottawa, ON. Hybrid flexibility to work from home twice per week.
  • Salary will be determined based on experience and internal parity, and will be within the range of $42,635 to $53,293 per year.
  • Relatively constant sitting at a computer and use of peripherals.
  • May experience mental stress due to interruptions or last-minute requests.
