Back-Office Medical Assistant PositionBusy Gilbert Urology Practice is looking for a motivated, professional and friendly nationally-certified Medical Assistant to deliver compassionate care to patients by assisting with clinical task’s, performing support services for clinical staff and providing direct interaction with patients and their caregivers.
Schedule: Full-time Monday through Friday schedule
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Prepares and sanitizes all exam rooms for the day as well as in between each patientRooms patient’s; completes vital signs and applicable patient assessment itemsCalls patient’s with results as directed by the providerSets up orders for phlebotomy and labsHandles physician requests and coordinates special testingAssist coworkers in any area to provide quality patient careSubmit prior authorization for medicationPrepare physician dictation and send to referring providersAssist in office procedures and surgeryCatheter changesSuture and staple removalPerform urinalysisPrepare and send urine and pathology labsAdminister injections and bladder instillationClean and sterilize instrumentsMaintains a professional, team oriented, positive attitudeMust be able to type and do work in an EMR systemAbility to work in a constant state of alertness and a safe mannerPerforms other duties as requested by supervisor, administrator or physiciansEducation, Experience & Skills:National MA certification is strongly preferred (will be required within 90 days of hire)Graduation from a medical assistant program1-2 years’ experience as a medical assistant preferred but not requiredKnowledge of HIPPA rules & RegulationsKnowledge of diagnostic testing and urological procedures preferredExcellent verbal and written communication skillsKnowledge of CPT, ICD-10, HCPS codingKnowledge of basic mathematicsProficiency with use of the internetAbility to use office equipment, computers
