Outpatient Pharmacy Technician
Position Title: Pharmacy Technician (Part-Time)
Schedule: 20 hours/week

Monday–Friday: Varies between 10:00 AM – 6:00 PM

Saturday: Required 9:00 AM – 1:00 PM
Compensation: $18.75 – $24.00/hour
The estimated range is the budgeted amount for this position. Final offers will be based on skill set, experience, location, qualifications, and comparisons to colleagues in similar roles.
Position Summary
The Outpatient Pharmacy Technician assists pharmacists in providing medication and healthcare services to patients, ensuring efficient pharmacy operations and excellent customer service.
Key Responsibilities
Essential Functions:

Assist in filling and labeling prescriptions, ensuring accuracy in medication dispensing. Check for potential drug interactions and verify patient information.

Greet patients and healthcare providers, answer questions regarding medications and pharmacy services, provide prescription status updates, and assist with insurance claims.

Maintain pharmacy inventory by monitoring stock levels, placing orders, and removing expired products. Ensure a well-stocked and organized pharmacy.

Maintain accurate records of prescriptions, patient profiles, and medication orders, documenting any changes or updates.

Adhere to federal and state regulations, including HIPAA and OSHA guidelines, to ensure patient safety and confidentiality. Follow infection control protocols and maintain a clean work environment.
Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent required. Associate’s degree in pharmacy technology or completion of a pharmacy technician training program preferred.

Pharmacy Technician Certification (CPhT) preferred.

Previous experience in a pharmacy setting is advantageous; on-the-job training will be provided.

Proficiency with pharmacy software and technology for prescription processing and inventory management.

Strong verbal and written communication skills for effective interaction with patients and healthcare professionals.
