Role Summary

The Senior HR Generalist / HR Operations Lead is a hands-on, execution-focused HR leader responsible for stabilizing day-to-day HR operations across multiple states. This role serves as the primary point of contact for managers and employees, absorbing employee relations, performance management, and compliance matters while reducing escalation to senior leadership.


This is a high-autonomy, high-impact role designed for an experienced HR professional who is comfortable operating independently in complex, fast-moving environments.


Key Responsibilities


HR Operations & Employee Relations

  • Serve as the first point of contact for employee relations issues
  • Independently manage investigations, documentation, and resolution
  • Coach managers on performance management and discipline
  • Ensure consistent application of policies across all locations

Compliance & Risk Management

  • Support multi-state compliance (attendance, leave, discipline, documentation)
  • Coordinate leave management and ensure proper tracking and escalation
  • Maintain defensible documentation and audit readiness

Manager Enablement

  • Provide real-time coaching to frontline and mid-level managers
  • Reinforce standardized HR processes and expectations
  • Reduce preventable escalations through education and structure

Process Stabilization

  • Help implement standardized HR workflows and intake processes
  • Identify recurring issues and recommend operational improvements
  • Partner with HR leadership on rollout of new policies and programs

Travel & Field Support

  • Maintain a regular on-site presence across WV, VA, PA, MD, and NJ
  • Build trust and credibility with local managers and employees
  • Serve as the “face of HR” in the field


Qualifications


Required

  • 7+ years of progressive HR experience
  • Strong employee relations and investigations background
  • Experience supporting multi-state operations
  • Comfort operating independently with limited structure
  • Willingness to travel regularly across assigned region

Preferred

  • Experience in operational, industrial, or multi-location environments
  • Familiarity with ADP Workforce Now or other HRIS
  • Prior experience stabilizing or rebuilding HR operations

Salary Information

$90000.0 - $105000.0 Annual Salary
