JOB TITLE: Staff Accountant

EMPLOYER: Aalberts Surface Treatment Corp

DEPARTMENT/LOCATION: Physical location - Fairburn, GA

Accounting for 3 Plants (Cleveland, TN, Milwaukee, WI and one TBD)

REPORTS TO: Controller

SUMMARY: Computes and prepares data for journal entries, general ledger, and related financial statements; performs day-to-day general accounting functions.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Prepares general ledger journal entries, fixed asset tracking, monthly balance sheet reconciliation, and bank reconciliation.

· Analyses and reconciles general ledger accounts.

· Responsible for accurate and timely month-end close; produces month-end financial reports and issues to management in a timely manner.

· Reports, analyzes, and interprets financial and operating data for management.

· Reviews accounts receivable, accounts payable and purchasing transactions for accurate posting to appropriate general ledger accounts.

· Performs or reviews daily banking transactions for accuracy and completeness.

· Maintains fixed asset and related depreciation schedules.

· Assists with budget preparation.

· Prepares and analyzes monthly journals.

· Performs daily banking procedures.

· Maintains fixed asset and related depreciation schedules.

· Assists with annual external reviews or audits.

· Assists with related special projects as required.

· Performs other duties as assigned by manager.

QUALIFICATIONS:

· Bachelor’s degree (B.A./B.S.) in accounting or finance or equivalent.

· Three to five years related experience or equivalent.

· Strong accounting skills.

· Acute attention to detail.

· Ability to work with all levels of management.

· Proficient in the use of accounting software (Job Boss, Plex, MAS90, etc.).

· Experienced Microsoft Excel user, competent in MS Word.

· Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

· Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills; able to manage priorities and workflow.

· Ability to work independently and as a member of teams and committees.

· Versatility, flexibility, and a willingness to work within constantly changing priorities with enthusiasm.
