Pet Groomer – Where Skill Meets Wag

Pet and Home Care LLC Frederick, Maryland, United States

About this position

Do you have the kind of grooming skills that make tails wag and pet parents beam?
Are you the calm in the chaos when a wiggly puppy can’t sit still? The kind of person who can transform a scruffy coat into a show-stopper—and do it with a smile?

We see you. And we’ve been waiting for you to find us.

At The Green K9 by Pet and Home Care, we’ve been setting the gold standard in pet care since 1999. We’re a women-led, full-service company that’s built on trust, professionalism, and a whole lot of love for animals. From dog walking to grooming, we treat every furry family member like they’re our own—because to us, they are.

Now, we’re looking for a Groomer who’s not just good with clippers, but who understands the heart of this work: making pets look and feel amazing, while giving their humans complete peace of mind. Must have weekend availability.

What You’ll Do

This isn’t just a grooming station—it’s your stage. You’ll:

  • Perform full-service grooming: bathing, nail trims, ear cleaning, brushing, de-shedding, detangling, and breed-specific cuts.

  • Handle pets of all sizes, coat types, and temperaments safely and confidently.

  • Spot and report any skin issues, parasites, or concerns.

  • Communicate clearly with pet parents about grooming preferences and care tips.

  • Rebook services and recommend helpful retail products (like CBD, specialty shampoos, or tools).

  • Keep your station and towels sparkling clean, organized, and safe—for you and your four-legged clients.

What You Bring

  • Experience: At least 2 years as a professional groomer.

  • Tools of the Trade: Your own grooming equipment.

  • Strength & Stamina: Able to lift up to 40 lbs and be on your feet all day.

  • Skill: Expertise in breed-specific grooming techniques.

  • People Skills: Clear communication with both pet parents and teammates.

  • Focus: An eye for detail and strong time management.

  • Team Spirit: A supportive attitude and the ability to work independently.

What We Offer

  • Commission plus tips

  • Biweekly pay via direct deposit—reliable and on time.

  • W-2 employment

  • 401(k) with company match—because your future matters.

  • 40 hours of PTO annually (prorated by start date).

  • 20% discount on retail products plus discounted pet care services.

  • A caring, certified team that’s committed to your growth.

  • A respectful, positive, pet-obsessed work culture.
