American Plastics, headquartered in St. Louis, Missouri, is a leading designer and manufacturer of innovative plastic-injection molded products for the household & garage storage and commercial cleaning end-markets. We are searching for a Supply Chain Planning Intern for our Findlay, OH location. This position will report to the Demand Planning Manager.
 

  

Responsibilities for this position include:

  • Support and participate in monthly Supply Plan Reviews across all manufacturing locations as part of the American Plastics S&OP process
  • Assist in developing optimized supply plans aligned to monthly demand forecasts
  • Enhance and standardize supply planning templates and reporting tools
  • Develop schedule attainment reporting to monitor production plan execution
  • Improve machine and mold capacity reporting to enhance visibility into constraints
  • Support scenario modeling and reporting for demand spikes, downtime events, and capacity shifts
  • Participate in monthly Demand Plan Reviews for key customers
  • Identify and implement opportunities to automate reporting in Power BI and Excel
  • Research best practices in supply planning, data analysis, and integrated S&OP processes

     

Skills/Key Competencies:

  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills with the ability to organize and analyze large datasets
  • Exposure to Power BI or other data visualization tools
  • Interest in manufacturing operations, supply chain, and data analysis
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating across departments
  • A focus on efficiency in both individual work and team processes, continuously striving to streamline processes
  • Demonstrates integrity, accountability, and professionalism
  • Ambitious and growth-oriented, with a proactive approach to personal and professional development
     
Requirements:

  

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Finance, Operations, Data Analytics, Industrial Engineering, or related field
  • Junior or Senior standing preferred
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Excel
  • Strong academic coursework in relevant coursework (supply chain, operations, statistics, finance, economics, etc.)
