About this position
Pool Manager
Position will be compensated at $25 per hour during the month of April (pre-season preparation and hiring period). From May through September, compensation transitions to a $52,000 seasonal salary, covering full operational oversight of the pool facility, staff management, programming, and daily operations. The Pool Manager will also receive employee meals during scheduled shifts.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide overall leadership and accountability for pool operations and staff
- Supervise and support the Head Lifeguard and Concessions Supervisor in daily activities
- Manage staffing schedules for lifeguards, concessions personnel, and other pool staff
- Oversee member and guest check-in procedures to ensure smooth operations
- Monitor and maintain proper pool water quality, including documentation and compliance
- Ensure adherence to all applicable state and local health, safety, and sanitation regulations
- Conduct regular safety inspections and implement corrective actions as needed
- Develop and enforce pool policies and procedures to promote safety and excellent service
- Coordinate training and ongoing education for staff on safety protocols and customer service
- Handle member inquiries, concerns, and feedback professionally and promptly
- Maintain accurate records related to pool operations, safety incidents, and compliance
Skills and Qualifications:
- Proven experience in pool management, lifeguarding, or related hospitality roles
- Strong leadership and team management skills
- Knowledge of water chemistry, safety standards, and health regulations
- Excellent organizational and time management abilities
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to handle emergency situations calmly and efficiently
- Certification in lifeguarding, CPR, and first aid (or willingness to obtain)
- Familiarity with scheduling software and operational documentation
- Commitment to providing a safe, enjoyable, and inclusive environment for all members and staff
- Ensure compliance with all state and local regulations
- Maintain inspection, incident, certification, and pool logs
- Assist with health and safety inspections
- Regular exposure to pool chemicals and outdoor environments
- Exposure to heat, humidity, and wet surfaces
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, kneel, lift, and respond quickly in emergencies
- Perform other duties as assigned to support pool operations and overall Club needs.
