Job Title: Phlebotomist

Department: Laboratory
Location: Clifton Springs Patient Service Centers
Hours Per Week: Full-Time, 40 hours/week
Schedule: 8-hour varying day shifts from 7a-4:30p, Saturday shift at Clifton every 4th Saturday from 7a-12p

SUMMARY

As a Phlebotomist, you ensure safe and effective blood collection for accurate analysis. You serve as a laboratory liaison between patients, nursing personnel and house staff. You demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide appropriate individual patient care.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Patient Care. Provide patient with all necessary information about the procedure; ensure patient is comfortable and safe
  • Blood Collection & Documentation. Collect blood specimens via venipuncture and skin puncture; ensure complete and accurate specimens for testing; prepare specimens for processing and complete any associated paperwork
  • Transportation. Obtain the required specimens/labels and transport to specified area

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • PBT (ASCP) certification preferred
  • Compassionate, warm and patient focused
  • Exceptional communication skills and professional behavior
  • Detail-oriented

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: M - Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects; Requires frequent walking, standing or squatting.

PAY RANGE: $20.15 - $20.15

The listed base pay range is a good faith representation of current potential base pay for successful applicants. It may be modified in the future. Pay is determined by factors including experience, clinical licensure date, relevant qualifications, specialty, internal equity, location, and contracts.
