<strong>Position Definition:</strong> The Camp Counselor supervises campers aged 5 to 14, assisting the Camp Director with daily sessions and leading engaging activities. Counselors ensure a safe, fun, and inclusive environment through activities like arts and crafts, gym games, sports, and themed programs.<br><br><strong>General Duties:&nbsp;</strong><ul style="margin-bottom: 3pt;"><li>Supervise and actively engage campers, leading both small and large group activities while ensuring safety and promoting engagement.</li><li>Assist with structured classes, support camp programs, and contribute to the setup, breakdown, and cleaning to maintain an organized and safe campsite.</li><li>Lead camp programs, guide campers through daily activities, and serve as a positive role model, promoting respect, inclusion, and teamwork.</li><li>Manage camper behavior with patience, focusing on safety, skill development, and behavior management.</li><li>Communicate effectively with campers, families, peers, and the leadership team.</li><li>Foster a positive camper experience through team-oriented leadership, ensuring all campers feel valued and included.</li></ul><br><strong>Supervised By:</strong> Receives direct supervision from the Summer Play &amp; Learn Camp Director<br><br><strong>Note:</strong><ul><li>Hours: 8:45 am to 3:0 pm on June 23, 2025, to August 1, 2025.</li><li>Available all six weeks, from June 23, 2025, to August 1, 2025, Monday through Friday from 8:45 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.</li><li>Depending on performance, additional hours are available for Early Morning (8:00 a.m. start) and Extended Day camp (3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.).</li><li>Commitment to attending all required training sessions, including CPR (June 16) and orientation sessions (June 17, 18, 20).</li><li>Available to attend all training before the camp season (June 17,18,20).</li><li>This position is not eligible for benefits.</li><li>The above is illustrative of tasks and responsibilities. <ul><li>The minimum age for hiring is 16.</li><li>Prior experience as an educator, coach, or camp counselor, or experience with early childhood development is preferred.</li></ul>
Certified or able to obtain certification in First Aid, CPR, and Epi-Pen training (training provided).

$$16.35 - $$22.00 Hourly Wage
